About a week ago, I was contacted by Shanna and was asked to participate in this wonderful blog hop. I am terrible at keeping my blog up to date, but Shanna is like a bag of skittles (without the added pounds)…I just can't say no :p. She is the ONE and ONLY reason I started paper/hybrid scrapbooking. Without question, I knew I had to take part.
1- What am I working on right now?
For the past few weeks, I have been working on my mini album for Marcy Penner's class at Studio Calico. It's still very much a work in progress but I am nearing the end. Hope you were able to sign up, this one was a MUST for me!
2- How long does it take me to create a project?
When it comes to digital scrapbooking, I can easily finish a project in under an hour but when it comes to paper or hybrid, it tends to vary. Inspiration is everywhere, but sometimes my project just doesn't come together like I would like it to. When this happens, I can easily let something sit on my desk for days or weeks.
3- What are my favourite things to create with at the moment?
I am absolutely obsessed with sequins, vellum, veneer and bright papers.
4- How does my writing/creative process work?
I rarely incorporate journaling in my layouts but when I do, I tend to print some text on a simple sheet of printer paper, cut it out and glue it to my page or project
5- How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
Pinterest, Pinterest, Pinterest!!! I spend a lot of time on this site and I always find the most wonderful things to incorporate one way or another in my layouts. Studio Calico and The Lilypad are also wonderful resources. Talk about talent!
6- What is my signature style?
Ha! I'd like to say my crooked stitching but I'm not sure that would count. I can honestly say that I don't believe I've discovered my signature style as of yet. I have mostly done digital scrapbooking (up until a few months ago) but based on the mix of both, I can say that I tend to stick to simple layouts; a heck of a lot of white space and not much in between
Now, enough about me!
The world is full of wonderful creative people. Some are so beyond talented and yes, I tend to get a little jealous :p…but I promise, in a good way. It was very hard for me to single out only a few ladies for this blog hop but I am so excited and cannot gush enough about the ladies below!
Carolina Orellana (aka cariilup)
Carolina's pages often remind me of my most carefree moments. They are filled with whimsy and very feminine touches. I love her simple compositions…she makes it all seem effortless.
Kelly Waterman (aka iscrapmyworld)
I became aware of Kelly when I started spending more time at Studio Calico. I love her clean, fun and simple style. Her PL spreads are always chalked full of stuff to look at.
